Innovative Services of Colorado has supported people with emotional, intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Denver area for more than 20 years. Its Aurora day program combines active treatment and skills training with community and recreational access, mostly in small groups with one-on-one support available. Participants volunteer at local businesses to build job skills and go bowling, shopping and to recreation centers. Reviewers and care providers describe friendly staff and a safe place where clients can be themselves, though one former participant reports staff yelling and poor vans. It is certified by Colorado's Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) as an adult day services provider.
Services & Care
Daily skills training covers independent living, social skills, meal planning and preparation, budgeting and money management, health and safety, anger management, communication, personal hygiene and vocational skills. Community activities include recreational tours, volunteering, community gardening, seasonal sports, shopping, health and fitness classes and planned social events. The organization also offers supported employment, a sports and social club and residential services.
