The League for People with Disabilities Adult Medical Day

The Adult Medical Day Program at The League for People with Disabilities serves adults 18 and older living with traumatic brain injury, neurological impairment, or disabilities resulting from stroke, mental health disorders, congenital impairment, seizure disorders or other medical conditions. Each participant receives an individual plan of care from a multidisciplinary team of registered nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, case managers, dietitians and recreation staff. Participants can use The League's Wellness Center, therapeutic pool, patio courtyard and outdoor garden. The League, a Baltimore organization for nearly a century, also runs MS day, aphasia and day habilitation programs. It is licensed by the State of Maryland as an Adult Medical Day Care center for up to 125 participants.

Full-time registered nurses provide skilled nursing care and medication administration and education, with trained attendant care. Physical, occupational and speech therapy are offered, along with individual, family and group counseling by contracted licensed mental health professionals and case management. Breakfast, lunch and a snack are served daily, and structured therapeutic and recreational activities run morning and afternoon. The League directly provides or helps arrange transportation at no cost to participants.

The program is at 1111 E Cold Spring Ln, Baltimore, MD 21239. Program hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The League accepts medical assistance under Maryland waiver programs, veterans' benefits, private pay and other insurance that covers medical day services.
