Gifford Adult Day Program

Gifford Adult Day is an adult day health program run by Gifford Health Care, located below the Bethel Health Center on Route 107 in Bethel, Vermont. It serves elders and adults with disabilities and aims to bridge the gap between home health services and nursing home care. A team of nurses and nursing assistants provides daily health monitoring, medication and diabetes management, meals, help with showers, and a range of activities in a spacious ground-level room. The program was founded in 1999 at Gifford's nursing home and moved to Bethel in 2005. It is listed by Vermont's Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) as an adult day provider.

Nurses and nursing assistants provide individualized daily health care, advocacy and monitoring, including medication and diabetes management, and help with personal hygiene, including showers. Participants receive meals and snacks, exercise, and activities such as live entertainment, arts and crafts, pet therapy, music therapy, games and sensory relaxation, along with holiday celebrations and baking and craft projects for the community. Transportation to and from the program is arranged with Stagecoach, and the program coordinates with the providers upstairs at Bethel Health Center, the pharmacy next door, and local agencies.

Gifford Adult Day is at 1823 VT-107, Bethel, VT 05032, below Bethel Health Center and beside the pharmacy. It is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
