Jewish Family Service of the Cincinnati Area opened Adult Day Services in November 2023 for older adults with memory problems or dementia who were at risk of social isolation. The program takes place in a newly designed space at its Blue Ash location and gives family caregivers respite. In 2024 it won an Alzheimer's Association Center for Dementia Respite Innovation grant, one of 21 awarded nationwide and the only one in Ohio. Participants have met service dogs, done goat yoga, gone on nature hikes and contributed art to a gallery opening. The program is listed in the AdultDayOhio directory of adult day services.
Services & Care
Programming emphasizes nature and art, and combines physical movement, social connection, emotional health, art, music and one-to-one intellectual stimulation suited to each person's capacity. Recent activities have included service dog visits, goat yoga, portable shark tanks, nature hikes and photography.
