Brighten Academy RGV – Brownsville

Brighten Academy in Brownsville is a licensed day and health care program for adults with special needs, including intellectual and developmental disabilities. It focuses on social interaction, cognitive engagement and building independence, and each family works with an advisor and dietitian on an individual plan. The curriculum includes life skills, music and art as therapy, physical health, computer basics and field trips. One parent reported that the program was short-staffed during a trial visit.
