Kent County Medical Adult Day Center

The Kent County Medical Adult Day Center is a community day program run by the Kent County Health Department in Chestertown for health-impaired adults. Its mission is to help participants stay as independent as possible for as long as possible. Nurses, social workers, activity therapists and nursing assistants care for each participant, and every personalized plan of care is approved by the participant's physician. Fees are based on a sliding scale by family income. It is licensed in Maryland as an Adult Medical Day Care for up to 28 participants.

Nursing care includes health assessments, medication management, blood pressure monitoring, blood work, health education and personal care. A light breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack are served. Therapeutic activities include exercise, socializing, games, crafts, outings and special events, and social services cover case management, counseling and help with benefits. Transportation is offered to and from the center and to local medical appointments.

The center is at the Kent County Health Department, 125 S Lynchburg St, Chestertown, MD 21620. The program operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM (staff are available 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM) and closes on Maryland state holidays and when Kent County Public Schools close for weather. Fees are set on a sliding scale by family income, and Medicaid and Veterans Administration benefits may cover fees for those who qualify. Call (410) 778-5581.
