Innovative Senior Solutions - Columbus Adult Day Care

The Columbus Adult Day Care Center is one of five Georgia adult day centers run by Innovative Senior Solutions, which also operates centers in Albany, Americus, Baxley and Valdosta. The centers focus on adults living with Alzheimer's disease and dementia, in a secure, supervised, home-like setting with an onsite nurse. Activities include art, music and reminiscence therapy, and participants receive meals, help with medications and transportation. A family describes being allowed a trial day so their aunt could see how she adjusted, and praises the communication and support they received.

Staff trained in dementia care lead activities that support memory recall, cognition and social interaction, including art, music and reminiscence therapy. An onsite nurse provides medical care and supervision, and staff assist with medication reminders and management. Balanced meals are served. Transportation to and from the center is provided by drivers trained in defensive driving and wheelchair lift use, and the center is secure to reduce the risk of wandering.
