Galileo Place Adult Day Program

Galileo Place is the adult day program of YoloCares, a Davis nonprofit also known for hospice and palliative care. The program is housed in a 6,000-square-foot facility with a family room, art studio, library, game room, kitchen, meditation suite and therapy garden. Specially trained staff lead activities for people with mild cognitive impairment and limited mobility, with a focus on social connection and a sense of purpose. A family member describes the center as new and clean and says her mother, nervous at first, now asks when she can go back to see her friends. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 70 participants.

Participants take part in group workouts, mind-sharpening games, creative arts, bingo, trivia, music and memory activities, and gardening. Support with activities of daily living such as walking, eating and personal hygiene is available depending on each person's abilities. A nutritious lunch and snacks are provided daily, and YoloCares also offers programs and groups for caregivers.

Galileo Place is at 1909 Galileo Ct, Davis, CA 95618. The main program runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at $90 per day, with optional extended hours from 8:00 to 9:00 AM ($10) and 3:00 to 4:30 PM ($15).
