Bienvivir All-Inclusive Senior Health – McKinley

Bienvivir All-Inclusive Senior Health is El Paso's Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), which helps older adults who qualify for nursing home care keep living at home. The McKinley Avenue facility is one of its day health centers; its former Concourse center has also moved here. Each participant has an interdisciplinary team that sets how often they attend, typically two to three times a week, and the center has a special care unit for people with dementia. Many families praise the medical care, transportation and activities, while some reviews raise concerns about communication and management. It is licensed by Texas Health and Human Services as a Day Activity and Health Services facility for up to 380 participants.

Each Bienvivir facility has a day health center, where participants take part in social and recreational activities, can bathe and get help with personal hygiene, see the physician, nurses or other team members, receive treatment or therapy, and have a snack and lunch. Bienvivir lists primary care, social work, meals planned with dietitians, on-site prescription filling, unlimited physical and occupational therapy, dental care and outpatient services, plus wheelchair-accessible bus transportation to the center and to specialist appointments. Each facility also has a special care unit for people with dementia, with a smaller participant-to-staff ratio and a calmer setting.

The McKinley center is located at 2300 McKinley Ave, El Paso, TX 79930, and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To enroll, a person must be 55 or older, certified by the State of Texas as needing nursing home level care, live in Bienvivir's service area and be able to live safely in the community; Bienvivir serves seniors who qualify for Medicaid and Medicare and helps with the free application.
