Farmingdale Adult Day Care Center

Farmingdale Adult Day Care Center is a non-profit interfaith service founded in 1995, providing support for the elderly, particularly those with physical and/or memory impairments such as Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of dementia. The center offers a social model day care program designed to engage and motivate clients through various activities. These include arts and crafts, live entertainment, group exercise, pet therapy, and blackboard activities. The program aims to maintain and stimulate mental and physical capabilities while providing respite for family caregivers. The center is known for its compassionate staff and volunteers who create a loving and safe environment for seniors.

Farmingdale Adult Day Care Center provides a range of services tailored to the needs of seniors, especially those with memory impairments. Clients receive a hot noon meal and nutritious snacks, with special diets accommodated. The center offers a secure environment to ensure the safety of those who may be confused or prone to wandering. Activities are designed to engage and stimulate, including arts and crafts, live entertainment, group exercise, pet therapy, and small group workshops called 'Motivate The Minds'. Additionally, the center provides assistance with everyday functions such as ambulatory needs and eating. A twice-monthly support group is available for caregivers to share experiences and receive education on dementia care.

Farmingdale Adult Day Care Center is located at 1 Morton St, Farmingdale, NY 11735, at the corner of Morton St. and Garity Place. The center operates Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM. The center welcomes donations to support its programs, including entertainment, craft supplies, games, and special occasions. As a 501(c)3 non-profit, donations are tax-deductible.
