The Club Adult Day HealthCare – Nassau County Council on Aging

The Club is a therapeutic adult day program run by the Nassau County Council on Aging at its Janice Ancrum Senior Life Center on Island Walkway in Fernandina Beach. It serves adults with physical or cognitive challenges and specializes in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, with each member's care plan developed with the family and adjusted as needs change. A licensed nurse and a Certified Dementia Practitioner are on staff every day. Google reviews mostly describe the senior center's classes, such as yoga and line dancing, and praise its friendly staff. It is licensed by the State of Florida as an Adult Day Care Center for up to 30 participants.

Each day is organized into hourly sessions of therapeutic activities, art, games, live music, visits from Project Search students and shared meals. Services listed include physical, occupational, and speech and cognitive therapy, mental health support, pet therapy, help with activities of daily living, free haircuts and manicures and onsite podiatry. Nutritious meals and snacks are provided, and the Council on Aging hosts caregiver workshops, support groups and a Memory Café.

The Club is at 1901 Island Walkway, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034. The program runs Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (the Senior Life Center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). It charges a daily rate that includes all programs and services, and accepts long-term care insurance and private pay.
