Step by Step Young Adult Center

Step by Step Young Adult Center is an adult day program at 17690 NW 78th Avenue in the Miami Lakes area of Hialeah, run by Step by Step Children's Center, which also operates pediatric extended care and a special needs academy. It serves young adults with special needs between the ages of 18 and 45, offering a structured setting where they build social connections, life skills and confidence at their own pace. Its Adult Day Training (ADT) program for adults with developmental disabilities focuses on independent living skills, community integration and job readiness, and is covered through Florida's Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) and the iBudget Medicaid waiver. Families can try the program with a three-day trial pass. It is licensed by the State of Florida as an Adult Day Care Center (license 9667) for up to 20 participants.

The program focuses on social engagement, independence and life skills, including daily grooming routines, self-care, health and wellness, and self-esteem. Its Adult Day Training program adds job-readiness practice with hands-on tasks and work simulations and activities in the community. Half-day and full-day schedules are available, and round-trip transportation is included.
