Amazing Place West

Amazing Place West is the west Houston campus of Amazing Place, a nonprofit that has served families facing dementia for about 30 years. Its weekday Day Program is for people with mild to moderate dementia and includes creative and cultural arts, fitness, recreational therapy, cognitive activities and off-site excursions, led by a Day Program Director with bilingual staff for Spanish-speaking participants. The campus also hosts caregiver classes, support groups and brain health education. Reviewers describe a new, very clean facility, caring staff and an unhurried tour. It is licensed by Texas Health and Human Services as a Day Activity and Health Services facility for up to 80 participants.

Participants choose from painting, games, storytelling, light exercise, on-site performances by professional artists and optional excursions to museums and Houston-area landmarks. A three-course lunch and a snack are prepared daily under the organization's Culinary Director. Health Services and Family Services staff are available to participants and families, and Amazing Place offers caregiver education, counseling and support groups.

Amazing Place West is at 621 Circle deMatel, Houston, TX 77094, and is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuition is paid monthly by the number of days attended (from $630 a month for one day a week to $2,464 for five days, as of January 2026); tuition assistance is available, it may be eligible for long-term care insurance reimbursement, and the VA may cover up to three days a week for those who qualify.
