CADES – Concord Adult Day Enrichment Services

Concord Adult Day Enrichment Services (CADES) is a licensed adult day center at Concord United Methodist Church on Roane Drive in Knoxville. It provides a safe, structured setting for senior adults whose needs prevent them from staying at home alone, and it has served seniors and caregivers in Knox and surrounding counties for about 20 years. CADES is a nonprofit that relies on community giving and grants to keep its fees affordable, and it also hosts a caregiver support group affiliated with Alzheimer's Tennessee. Families describe a clean facility and compassionate staff, and one reviewer calls it a good program for seniors with dementia. It is a licensed adult day services center in Tennessee.

The program includes exercise, active and passive games, discussion groups, reminiscence therapy, current events, music therapy, pet visits, arts and crafts, intergenerational contact, gardening, travelogues, guest speakers and educational programs, along with nutritional support. A caregiver support group meets the first Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon at the church, with care provided for enrolled participants during the meeting. CADES is also a training site for nursing, social work and occupational therapy students.

CADES is located at Concord United Methodist Church, 11020 Roane Dr, Knoxville, TN 37934, and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants should be ambulatory or semi-ambulatory, independent with basic self-care, able to adapt to a group setting and not able to stay home alone.
