The Roland Center Adult Day Program

The Roland Center is a nonprofit in La Puente that has served adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1960. Its Adult Day Program is a supervised, community-integrated day program built around each person's goals, with a Care Coordinator assigned to every participant and a stated 3:1 ratio of Direct Support Professionals. The center says it is CARF accredited for both specialized autism services and dementia care for adults with IDD, and it offers music therapy, animal therapy, a memory cafe and a tranquility garden. Reviewers describe a friendly, caring staff and a place to learn. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 150 participants.

Programming includes daily habilitation activities focused on life skills, vocational skills, communication and independence, along with social and recreational activities, creative arts, music, movement and wellness. The center offers music therapy, animal therapy, a fitness area, a memory cafe and a tranquility garden, plus community outings. Each participant's goals are set through Person-Centered Planning.
