Southwest Opportunities Center Day Services
1600 Industrial Park Rd, Lancaster, WI 53813
Southwest Opportunities Center (SOC) is a private nonprofit that has served people with disabilities in Grant County and southwest Wisconsin since 1988. Its Day Services program offers activities meant to build self-confidence, social skills and independence in an informal setting, with personal care help for those who need it. SOC also runs Golden Opportunities, a program for adults 55 and older who want leisure, social and educational activities rather than work as the focus of their day. Reviewers call it a good place for adults with disabilities, and one family member says their father enjoys going. It is certified in Wisconsin as an Adult Day Care Center for up to 19 participants.
Services & Care
Day Services members choose each week from activities and outings including exercise and therapy, arts and crafts, cooking, swimming, community outings, music and animal therapy, reading and library visits, social skill building and daily living skills. Golden Opportunities, for people 55 and older who need minimal help with personal care and mobility, offers grocery shopping, baking, games, puzzles, music, nature walks and seasonal projects. SOC also provides transportation services.
