Center for Better Life (라이프 보건센터)

Center for Better Life is a Community-Based Adult Services (CBAS) center, California's Medi-Cal adult day health care benefit, at 1616 Beverly Boulevard near Echo Park and Westlake in Los Angeles. The center says its team of registered nurses, dietitians, social workers and therapists has worked with participants for over two decades. CBAS serves adults 18 and older, with care plans approved by each participant's managed care health plan in six-month periods. The website is offered in English and Korean, and the center says it helps participants who are not comfortable in English with interpretation and translation of bills and Medi-Cal, Medicare and welfare paperwork. It is licensed by the California Department of Public Health as an Adult Day Health Care center.

The center lists professional nursing services, including monitoring of vital signs, weight and diet, wound care and medication management, plus social services, case management and physical and occupational therapy. It offers counseling, individual and group therapy, and support for participants with depression or dementia. Breakfast, a snack and lunch are served daily, and activities include exercise classes, yoga, an on-site gym, singing, ukulele and dance lessons, karaoke, arts and crafts, sudoku, cell phone classes, bingo and billiards. Staff also help with transportation near the center and with arranging services such as Access paratransit.

The center is at 1616 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026. It is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The center accepts L.A. Care, Blue Cross, Care 1st, Health Net, Kaiser and Molina plans; CBAS services require approval of an individual care plan by the participant's health plan.
