Center for Better Life – Van Nuys

Center for Better Life (licensed as Mejor Vida Adult Day Health Care Center) is a CBAS adult day health care center in Van Nuys, with a sister center in Los Angeles. Its team of registered nurses, dietitians, social workers and therapists has worked with participants for more than two decades, and its website is offered in English and Korean. Services include nursing and medication management, physical and occupational therapy, mental health support, meals and help arranging transportation. One reviewer describes good activities, food and exercise and a mix of Latino, Filipino and Korean participants, while another found phone staff rude. It is licensed by the California Department of Public Health as an Adult Day Health Care center.

Nursing services include monitoring vital signs, weight and diet, wound care and medication management, along with physical and occupational therapy, case management and counseling with individual and group therapy. Breakfast and lunch are served daily with dietary accommodations. Activities include resistance band exercise, yoga, an on-site gym, singing, ukulele, karaoke and dance lessons, arts and crafts, sudoku, cell phone literacy, bingo and billiards. The center offers transportation in nearby areas and helps with services such as Access, and assists with translating bills and benefit paperwork.
