Kheir Vermont Adult Day Health Care Center

Kheir Vermont Adult Day Health Care Center is one of two adult day health care sites run by Kheir Clinic, a Federally Qualified Health Center in Koreatown that has served Los Angeles since 1986. Through California's Community-Based Adult Services (CBAS) program, it serves eligible adults 18 and older with chronic illnesses or disabilities who need daytime health care. Each day begins with a nursing check-in, followed by meals, therapy or counseling as needed, and activities such as exercise, arts and crafts and group games; the center also celebrates holidays such as Lunar New Year and Chuseok. Kheir's own testimonials describe caring staff, good food and a fully equipped gym. It is licensed by the California Department of Public Health as an Adult Day Health Care center.

Registered nurses provide on-site care and monitor health needs, and therapists offer physical and speech therapy to maintain mobility, strength and communication. Staff help with eating, dressing, grooming and using the bathroom, and offer individual and group counseling. Warm meals and snacks are served daily, door-to-door transportation is provided, and the center has specialized programming for people living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease.
