ONEgeneration Adult Daycare

ONEgeneration Adult Daycare is a nonprofit, medically supervised day program in Van Nuys for adults living with Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, post-stroke disabilities, memory impairment and other long-term illnesses. It operates as a Community-Based Adult Services (CBAS) program and shares its campus with ONEgeneration's childcare and preschool, so participants take part in intergenerational activities with the children. Care includes nursing, medication management, social work and an individualized plan of care, with breakfast, lunch and snacks. Family members quoted on the program's site say their relatives feel safe and happy there, and parents in Google reviews praise the joint activities between the adult daycare and the children's classrooms. It is licensed by the California Department of Public Health as an Adult Day Health Care center.

Services include nursing care with medication management, restroom assistance or reminders, an individualized plan of care, social work assistance, and breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. Daily exercise, cognitively challenging games and intergenerational activities with the on-site childcare program are part of the day. Additional services may include physical, occupational and speech therapy, transportation and dietary consultation. ONEgeneration also hosts caregiver support groups.

Adult Daycare hours are weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with extended hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Services are covered by Medi-Cal Managed Care, Regional Center, the Department of Veterans Affairs, long-term care insurance and private pay.
