TLC Creative Arts Day Program

Therapeutic Living and Learning Centers is a Reseda nonprofit serving adults and children with disabilities across the San Fernando Valley. Its Creative Arts Day Program for adults offers person-centered classes in fine arts, music, music therapy, drama, dance, creative writing, gardening, culinary arts and life and job skills, with performances in the TLC Black Box Theater. Instructors adapt activities to a wide range of abilities, and no art experience is needed. A reviewer who picks up a participant describes a day program for adults with special needs of all levels. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 30 participants.

Classes include painting, drawing and ceramics; choir and instrument exploration; guided music therapy; theater games and live performances; dance and movement; creative writing; gardening; and cooking simple, nutritious meals. Participants also build daily living and vocational skills and go on regular community outings to parks, cultural spaces and local events. TLC separately operates residential homes for adults with disabilities.
