Mariposa Place Adult Day Health Center

Mariposa Place, part of PrinceCare Group, runs an Adult Day Health Center on Baxter Avenue in Louisville that provides life-enhancing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program supports individual choice and helps participants improve fine and gross motor skills, stimulate intellectual growth and feel connected to their peers. Mariposa also offers speech, occupational and physical therapy, behavior supports and psychological services. Reviewers say clients enjoy attending and praise the caring staff. It is licensed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky as an Adult Day Health center.

Participants choose from group and individual person-centered activities such as gardening, cooking, book club, exercise, a fantasy football league, music therapy and Bible study, with more added based on participants' interests. Mariposa also accepts referrals for speech, occupational and physical therapy, behavior supports and psychological services.

The center is at 1520 Baxter Ave, Louisville, KY 40205, and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Services are offered through Kentucky's SCL, Michelle P. and HCB waivers and private pay. To schedule a tour, contact Associate Director Tiffani Johnson at (502) 896-8147.
