Adult Day Program at Mount of Olives Church

The Adult Day Program at Mount of Olives Church has been serving the Mission Viejo and South Orange County community for over 30 years. It provides a safe and structured social environment for seniors, including those with early-stage dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and other mild cognitive impairments. The program aims to help participants maintain independence in daily activities while engaging at the highest social level possible. Staff and volunteers are trained to offer compassionate, client-centered care, fostering a loving and stimulating atmosphere. The program also supports caregivers with respite time, early intervention, and future planning resources.

The Adult Day Program offers a variety of services tailored to meet the needs of seniors and their caregivers. Daily activities include painting, music, brain games, chair exercises, and arts & crafts, designed to stimulate the body, mind, and spirit. A hot meal and afternoon snack are provided by Age Well Senior Services. The program also features the Healthy Brain Center, offering memory screenings and assessments using Cognivue ClarityTM. Additional services include reminiscence, art, music, pet, and horticulture therapies. Monthly evaluations monitor participants' needs and abilities, with any declines discussed with caregivers. The program also hosts a bi-monthly caregiver support group and provides resources for families.

The Adult Day Program is located at 24772 Chrisanta Dr, Building H, Mission Viejo, CA 92691. Operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm, with tours available by appointment. The facility is a private pay facility but honors Long Term Care policies and may qualify for Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA) or Palliative Care coverage. Participants must be weight-bearing and able to walk, eat, and use restrooms independently or with minimal assistance. Transportation is not provided, but some participants use the OCTA ACCESS bus. Enrollment involves a two-day preliminary evaluation for a fee of $198.00, followed by an initial care plan if the program is a good fit.
