Easterseals Adult Day Health Services – New Castle

This is the adult day health program run by Easterseals Delaware & Maryland's Eastern Shore at its main office on Corporate Circle in New Castle. It serves adults 18 and older who would rather spend the day in a community setting than at home or in a nursing facility, including younger and older adults living with multiple sclerosis, stroke, brain or spinal cord injury and other acquired disabilities, as well as people who need support because of aging or dementia. Each participant has an individualized plan of care, and Easterseals says participants choose their own activities and may attend up to five days a week; memory care services are offered for people in the early or middle stages of Alzheimer's disease or another dementia. Google reviews of this location mostly concern Easterseals' other services, such as personal attendant services and respite, and are mixed. It is licensed in Delaware as an Adult Day Care Center for up to 60 participants.

Easterseals lists full-time nursing services, including care management, supplemental nutrition, continence care and medication administration, along with dignified help with personal care and other daily activities. Meals and snacks are planned around individual dietary needs. Participants choose from activities such as arts and crafts, current-events discussions, exercise, group games, computer use and community outings. Specialized memory care services give families of people with early- to mid-stage dementia daily respite.

It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Easterseals accepts Medicaid, Veterans Administration benefits and self-pay, and says fee assistance may be available to those who qualify; transportation to and from the center is available through DART.
