Compassionate Care Adult Day Center

Compassionate Care Adult Day Center is operated by the Green River District Health Department inside the Daviess County Community Health Center in Owensboro. It serves adults aged 21 and older who need supervision or medical monitoring, or who are at risk of isolation because of medical or developmental conditions, and participants must be under a physician's care. Residents of Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union and Webster counties can attend. Services are available through Kentucky's Medicaid home and community based waiver or private pay. It is licensed in Kentucky as an Adult Day Health program.

A registered nurse is on duty at all times, providing health monitoring, medication administration, wound care and other skilled nursing. Staff help with feeding, grooming, toileting and mobility, and work with each participant's physician, case manager and caregivers on a personal plan of care. Participants receive breakfast as needed, a hot lunch and an afternoon snack, with meals tailored to dietary needs, and take part in activities such as bingo, arts and crafts, music and karaoke. The center has a day room, activity room, television lounge, kitchen, shower and laundry area.

The center is located at 1600 Breckenridge St, Owensboro, KY 42303, in the Daviess County Community Health Center, and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
