2nd Home Adult Medical Day Center – Paterson

2nd Home Paterson is part of 2nd Home Adult Medical Day Care, a group of centers across northern and central New Jersey. The program lets participants live at home on evenings and weekends while receiving individualized medical, nursing, social, rehabilitative and personal care at the center Monday through Friday. To qualify, a person must have an identified medical condition and a lack of social support that affects that condition. Staff are bilingual, and reviewers describe a comfortable environment. It is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health as an Adult Day Health Services Facility for up to 120 participants.

A full-time registered nurse and a licensed practical nurse are always on duty, and a medical director makes sure participants' physician orders are followed. Social services include intake interviews, home visits, counseling and help with Medicare and Medicaid rules. Activities include daily exercise, games, crafts, movies, gardening, educational programs, guest entertainers and day trips. Meals include breakfast, a hot lunch and a take-home snack tailored to dietary needs, and the center coordinates dental, podiatry, physical, occupational and speech therapy with outside providers. Free transportation includes rides to physicians and to stores and banks.

The center is at 100 Hamilton Plaza #317, Paterson, NJ 07505, and operates Monday through Friday.
