Adult Day Experiences

Adult Day Experiences was started by a speech-language consultant and an assistant who saw a need for a communication-based day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Communication and self-advocacy are built into every activity, alongside community integration, domestic and self-care skills, pre-vocational training and recreation, with a 1:3 staff-to-participant ratio. ADE runs two identical programs across the parking lot from each other on Warren Drive: ADE and ADE Too. Reviewers describe friendly, understanding staff, birthday celebrations and BBQs. State records list Adult Day Experiences Too as licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 30 participants.

Daily activities target self-advocacy and choice-making, community skills such as safety, restaurant etiquette, shopping and money management, and domestic skills including hygiene, nutrition and simple meal preparation. Pre-vocational training builds listening, multi-step directions and work readiness. Staff can assist with G-tube feedings and restroom care, including transfers and brief changes. ADE is not a behavior management program and cannot support aggressive behaviors.

ADE is at 2510 Warren Dr # A, Rocklin, CA 95677, and is open Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. It does not provide transportation to and from the program, which can be arranged through the regional center service coordinator. Participants who use wheelchairs are accepted if they can stand, bear weight and pivot with assistance.
