Studio 700 Center for the Arts is one of The Arc of Placer County's adult day programs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program treats its clients as working artists: participants build fine motor skills, social skills, following directions and time management while creating art, and their work is sold to the public so they can earn money from it. Art made here includes photography, ceramics, greeting cards, paintings, wearable art, animated music videos, short films and theatre performances. Families and participants describe kind, thoughtful staff and a place where participants have friends. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 76 participants.
Services & Care
Participants work with instructors on painting, ceramics, photography, greeting cards, wearable art and clothing, three-dimensional work, animated videos, short films and theatre. The Arc of Placer County's programs also focus on personal growth, community involvement, and volunteer and vocational guidance. Artwork is shown and sold at art shows, giving artists a chance to earn money from their work.
