Pathway To Choices Arden-Arcade Day Program

Pathway To Choices Arden-Arcade is a day program for adults with special needs, part of a small provider that also runs day programs in Citrus Heights and Pinole. Its stated mission is to give adults with developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges and/or concurrent mental illnesses a stimulating, individualized program. The curriculum leans toward academic skills such as math and reading comprehension, alongside exercise, iPad-based learning and regular outings around Sacramento. Each client has an individualized plan of goals and objectives that staff update regularly. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 50 participants.

Staff work with each client on an individualized set of goals and objectives that is updated regularly. Daily activities include math and reading practice, Zoom sessions on topics such as science, news, arts and crafts, music, cooking and American Sign Language, plus indoor exercise equipment and walks. The program goes on community outings to places such as Old Sacramento, the state Capitol, the Golden 1 Center and local bowling and movie venues, and clients can earn rewards through a weight-goal program and a student store.
