Apollo Adult Day Program

Apollo Adult Day Program works with adults who have developmental and behavioral challenges, combining a behavior management program at its South Capitol Avenue campus with a community integration program. Its program areas include life skills and functional skills training, recreation and social clubs, creative skills, physical fitness, pre-vocational training, social work, community outings and senior activities. The gated campus has a multipurpose room, activity room, library, kitchen, movie room and patio, and can serve people who use wheelchairs or other assistive devices. Participants describe staff who are good listeners and helped them do more than they thought they could, and one says Apollo has been like a second family for over 10 years. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 150 participants.

Programming covers life skills and functional skills development, recreational programs and social clubs, creative skills, physical fitness, pre-vocational training, social work, community outings and activities for seniors. The site is licensed for up to 25 non-ambulatory participants who use wheelchairs or other assistive devices. Transportation is listed among the program's services; call to ask how it is arranged.
