Yu-Ai Kai's Senior Day Service is an adult day program for dependent older adults, run by the Yu-Ai Kai Japantown Community Senior Center, which has served San Jose's Japantown for about 50 years. The program offers social interaction and structured activities including music, games, art, gentle exercise, dog therapy and intergenerational visits from a preschool and local universities, along with wellness activities and health screenings. Staff are bilingual in Japanese and English, and the program aims to give family caregivers time to rest, work or handle other business. Reviewers praise the friendly, caring staff, the wide range of activities and the nutritious lunch. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 30 participants.
