AgeMaine Adult Day Program – Springvale

This adult day program is run by AgeMaine (formerly Southern Maine Agency on Aging) at its Anderson Learning Center in Springvale. It opened in 2024 to bring adult day services closer to families in Sanford and western York County. The program serves older adults, including people in the mild to moderate stages of Alzheimer's disease, dementia and other memory loss, with person-centered activities in a home-like setting. It gives caregivers dependable respite, and AgeMaine also offers caregiver coaching, support groups and dementia education. It is licensed in Maine as an Adult Day Services Program for up to 15 participants.

Activities are matched to each member's interests and may include chair exercise, music and singing, art and crafts, gardening and outdoor time, cognitive games, reminiscence and storytelling, and visiting guests. Staff and volunteers focus on people living with memory loss, though the program also welcomes adults with other abilities and diagnoses. Families can try a free three-hour trial visit before enrolling.
