Social Vocational Services – South San Francisco

This is one of about 80 locations of Social Vocational Services (SVS), a California provider for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Its Community Inclusion Services offer activities that promote independence, self-advocacy, community integration, career exploration and socialization, with schedules built around each person's interests. Most services take place in the wider community, with the facility used for day program activities when appropriate. SVS also offers career exploration and supported employment. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 60 participants.

Popular activities include arts, cooking, computer technology, gardening, work experience, volunteering, physical fitness, music and recreation. Staff help each participant develop an activity schedule around their interests, with a focus on self-advocacy, health and community integration. Career exploration services help participants learn about different jobs and build skills such as resume writing and interviewing.
