Empath LIFE

Empath LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly) is Empath Health's PACE program, and this Tampa day center serves Hillsborough County residents (except ZIP codes 33547, 33567 and 33598). Participants receive coordinated medical care and day care, including primary and specialty care, in-home support, therapies and transportation, so they can keep living at home. The day center has a secure entrance, a day room with computers and TV, a medical clinic, a physical and occupational therapy suite, a meditation room and an arts, crafts and sewing area. Some reviewers describe poor communication around medical appointments and care. It is licensed by the State of Florida (Agency for Health Care Administration) as an Adult Day Care Center (license 9532) for up to 144 participants.

At the day center, participants share meals and snacks and join fitness sessions, educational seminars, special events, games, music and bingo, plus arts, crafts and sewing. A medical clinic and a physical and occupational therapy suite are on site. The program also covers primary and specialty medical care, in-home care and transportation.
