LIFE Adult Day Health at Roma Berry Center for Seniors

LIFE's Adult Day Health program at the Roma Berry Center for Seniors in Tulsa provides daytime care for older adults who benefit from health monitoring, engaging activities and personal support. It serves adults with physical or cognitive impairments, including Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, COPD, heart conditions, diabetes, Parkinson's disease, stroke and traumatic brain injury. Activities are adapted to all abilities and include daily exercise classes, brain fitness, games, gardening, cooking, woodworking, music, art and community outings. A reviewer whose roommate has Alzheimer's says both he and his caregivers enjoy the activities across the Adult Day and active-senior sides of the center. It is licensed in Oklahoma as an adult day care center for up to 180 participants.

Health services may include monthly vital signs and weights, medication administration, glucose monitoring, injections, breathing treatments, minor wound care and routine care for chronic illnesses, as well as physical, occupational and speech therapy. Staff help with toileting, bathing, eating, walking and grooming, and meals and snacks include special diets such as liberalized diabetic, renal and pureed. Activities include Arthritis Foundation exercise classes, Wii bowling, horseshoes and other games, current events and reminiscence groups, computer classes, gardening, cooking, woodworking, art, music, outings and visits from therapy dogs and musicians.

The building is open Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with longer Friday and Saturday hours and 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday; call to confirm Adult Day Health program hours.
