Bethel Adult Day Health Services at The Knolls

Bethel, a Westchester nonprofit, runs adult day health services at The Knolls, its senior living community in Valhalla. The program offers nursing, therapeutic and social day care for seniors who would otherwise spend their days alone at home. Registered nurses, a dietitian, a consultant pharmacist and a social worker support participants. One reviewer who drives seniors to and from the site describes the staff as nice and the building as clean. It is certified by New York State as an Adult Day Health Care Program.

Registered nurses provide evaluations and treatments, medication management, coordination of medical services, personal care and nursing rehabilitation. Participants take part in physical, social, cognitive and creative activities, exercise and wellness programs. Meals and snacks are planned with a registered dietitian, a consultant pharmacist reviews medications, and a social worker with an MSW supports participants and families. Door-to-door transportation is available within about 10 miles.

The program is at The Knolls, 55 Grasslands Rd, Valhalla, NY 10595, and runs Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for qualified participants. Bethel accepts Medicaid, Medicaid managed long-term care and private pay, and transportation can be arranged within a 10-mile radius, or farther if needed.
