JABA Charlottesville Respite & Enrichment Center

The Charlottesville Respite & Enrichment Center is the adult day program of JABA (Jefferson Area Board for Aging), the area agency on aging for Central Virginia, located at JABA's Hillsdale Drive headquarters. It offers a safe, active setting during the week for adults living with dementia or other disabilities, and respite for their caregivers. Activities are personalized to each member's interests and abilities, and staff are trained to build friendships among members. Veterans may be eligible for membership reimbursement through the VA. It is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services as an adult day care center for up to 100 participants.

Members take part in activities personalized to their interests and abilities, with health support from trained staff, including medication management and personal care. Meals and snacks are prepared by JABA's on-site chef, with menus approved by registered dietitians. Families choose how often their loved one attends, and staff connect caregivers with JABA and community resources such as support groups and respite voucher help.
