Park & Garden is one of the adult day programs run by Little Red Hen, a Chico nonprofit that serves children and adults with developmental disabilities and funds its work through local stores. The program teaches life skills through hands-on learning in nature, including gardening, nature walks, plant education and meditation, with the aim of building confidence and independence. A visiting group describes a warm welcome and a meaningful tour from staff. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 35 participants.
