Bay Center Day Services is a program of HCAR (Humboldt Community Access and Resource Center) in Eureka that helps adults with developmental disabilities build skills for independent community life. Coaching covers four areas: vocational skills, day-to-day life skills, behavioral skills and community integration, tailored to each person's needs and goals. Participants can take on paid jobs such as document shredding and newspaper delivery, and volunteer at local organizations including the Humane Society and Food for People. Each person has an Individualized Service Plan reviewed regularly. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 75 participants.
