Gloucester Adult Day Center

Gloucester Adult Day Center is a health, social and respite program run by Bay Aging in Gloucester County. It serves adults 18 and older with a medical need such as dementia, Alzheimer's, cognitive decline, Parkinson's or a developmental disability, in a home-like setting. Staff, all CNAs and medication aides, provide supervision, help with daily living, recreational therapies and activities. A reviewer whose family members attend describes the staff and program as a relief, knowing loved ones are safe, engaged and enjoying themselves. It is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services as an adult day care center for up to 24 participants.

Staff help with activities of daily living and provide recreational therapies, activities, outings, gardening, crafts, exercise and visits from community members. All direct staff are CNAs and medication aides. A home-cooked breakfast and lunch and daily snacks are prepared in the on-site kitchen. Transportation can be arranged through Bay Transit for participants able to ride the bus independently.

The center is at 5873 Fiddlers Green Rd, Gloucester, VA 23061, and is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Medicaid pays daily costs for people enrolled in CCC+, eligible veterans may have care paid by the VA, and private pay is $70 for a full day or $40 for a half day, according to Bay Aging.
