Columbia County Senior Services Alzheimer's Day Club

Columbia County Senior Services runs an adult day respite program called "The Club" for older adults living with Alzheimer's and dementia, at its Lake City Lifestyle Enrichment Center. The organization says it is the only program of its kind in Columbia County. The center also offers meals, fitness, classes, in-home help and transportation, and holds a caregiver support group twice a month. Reviewers describe an adult day care section within the center, and one says participants are picked up, served breakfast and lunch, and taken on occasional outings. It is licensed by the State of Florida as an Adult Day Care Center for up to 12 participants.

The Club gives families daytime respite for loved ones with Alzheimer's or dementia. Columbia County Senior Services also offers congregate and home-delivered meals, transportation services, in-home assistance and a veterans care coordination program. A caregiver support group meets from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.
