Encore Memory Care Day Center – Lewisville

Encore Memory Care Day Center in Lewisville is one of three Encore day centers in North Texas that have offered specialized dementia programs for over 15 years. Activities are based on memory care research, entertainers visit twice a week, and staff are trained in dementia and Alzheimer's disease. A nurse is on duty every day for health monitoring and medication, and doors lock automatically with cameras in activity rooms and hallways. Families describe a knowledgeable director, caring staff and support for caregivers. It is licensed by Texas Health and Human Services as a Day Activity and Health Services facility for up to 60 participants.

A nurse (LVN or RN) is on duty every day for medication administration, blood pressure monitoring, diabetic testing and medical treatments. Meals are planned by a registered dietitian and include continental breakfast, a hot lunch and snacks, with help at mealtimes and diets for diabetics. The building is secured, with specialized furniture, handrails and video monitoring. Daily devotions, caregiver training and barber and beauty services (for an extra fee) are also offered.
