UCC Adult Day Center

The UCC Adult Day Center is the adult day program of United Community Center, a long-standing nonprofit on Milwaukee's south side. It serves people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, people with physical impairments, and families who need daytime caregiving support, offering health, social, recreational and support services in a protective daytime setting. All services are offered in both Spanish and English, and the program includes intergenerational events with students from UCC's Bruce-Guadalupe school. The center is located on the 2nd floor of the United Community Center building. It is certified by the State of Wisconsin as an Adult Day Care Center (ADCC) for up to 80 participants.

The center provides transportation to and from the program, and a daily hot multicultural meal prepared by Café El Sol and regulated by a county nutritionist. Bathing and personal care (skin care, baths, laundry, shaving help) are available to qualified participants, along with medication and insulin management, podiatry and health education classes on topics such as diabetes, depression and healthy eating. Daily activities include exercise such as Zumba and stretching, memory and table games, baking, arts and crafts, music and dance, discussion groups, holiday celebrations and outings to museums, parks and lakes.

The center is on the 2nd floor of the United Community Center at 1028 S 9th St, Milwaukee, WI 53204; use the 8th Street entrance. The program's website lists hours as Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The program is currently welcoming new participants.
