Alzheimer's Community Care Pahokee Center

The Pahokee center of Alzheimer's Community Care (the Leo and Anne Ross Albert Alzheimer's Specialized Day and Service Center) is a day program for people living with Alzheimer's disease or another neurocognitive disorder. The nonprofit's nurses and staff are trained in dementia care, and it keeps a staff-to-participant ratio of 1 to 5. Reviewers describe caring, understanding staff and a clean center. It is licensed by the State of Florida as an Adult Day Care Center for up to 35 participants.

Center nurses monitor nutrition and hydration, give medications, check health status and respond to medical needs. Participants have breakfast, lunch and a snack each day, along with pet therapy, art therapy, music therapy, socialization and exercise. Family Navigator and ID Locator services may also be offered at the center.
