Loving Care Adult Day Health Care Center

Loving Care Adult Day Health Care Center is a structured day program of therapeutic, social and health services for frail older adults and other adults with physical or cognitive impairments, located in Mission Valley near four major freeways. It has operated in San Diego since 1999 and is Medi-Cal certified as a Community-Based Adult Services (CBAS) program, with care individualized to each participant's plan. A registered nurse is on site daily, and services include personal care, restorative therapies, social work, psychiatric and psychological services, meals and transportation. It is licensed by the California Department of Public Health as an Adult Day Health Care center.

A registered nurse is on site daily to evaluate and meet nursing needs, and staff help with walking, grooming, dressing, toileting and eating. Restorative therapy includes occupational, speech and physical therapy, and medical social workers and psychiatric/psychological services support participants and families. Nutritious meals and snacks are served daily (three meals a day), therapeutic activities are offered, and transportation is provided.

It is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Participants must be 18 or older with a chronic or post-acute medical, cognitive or mental health condition and need help with daily activities; the center accepts Medi-Cal and several Medi-Cal HMO plans, San Diego Regional Center, VA, long-term care insurance and private pay.
