Morgan Autism Center has run its adult day program in San Jose for over 40 years, alongside its school program and a newer Adaptive Skills Trainer program opened in 2025. The Adult Day Program is designed specifically for individuals with autism, with a calm, sensory-friendly environment, predictable routines and individualized schedules tied to each person's IPP goals. The center lists staff-to-participant ratios of 1:1 to 1:3 depending on need, staff trained in crisis prevention and positive behavior supports, and secured entry and exit. As of summer 2026 the center says its space to enroll new adult clients is very limited. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 65 participants.
Services & Care
Participants receive instruction in activities of daily living such as hygiene, dressing, feeding and toileting as appropriate, and positive behavior support plans when needed. Trained staff handle medication administration and monitoring and attend to dietary needs and specialized feeding protocols. Activities include music, art, nature exploration, movement, walks, gardening, simple crafts and supported community outings, and families get daily notes and progress updates.
