The Life Skills Learning Center (LSLC) is the day program of Able Industries, a Visalia nonprofit founded in 1960 that serves adults with disabilities. Its Day Training Activity Center program teaches real-life skills in communication, health, technology, self-advocacy and creativity, increasingly in community settings such as local businesses and volunteer sites. Adults 18 and older can join with a referral from Central Valley Regional Center. Able also runs job training, community employment and job placement programs. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 76 participants.
Services & Care
The program offers a personalized approach to learning daily living skills, with classes in communication, health, technology, self-advocacy and creative activities. More of the training now takes place in the community through local business partnerships and volunteering. Participants can also move into Able's job training and employment programs.
