The Lab is a day program run by Little Red Hen, a Chico nonprofit serving children and adults with developmental disabilities. It offers a supportive, inclusive space focused on technology education and creative skill-building, with each day structured to encourage creativity, self-expression, practical skills and friendships with people who share similar interests. A parent quoted by Little Red Hen says she looks forward to watching her family members' worlds expand through the program. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 35 participants.
Services & Care
Members explore computer literacy, graphic design, social media, video editing, game development, 3D printing, filmmaking and career planning. Little Red Hen publishes a monthly schedule of Lab activities. The organization also runs Artisan, Park & Garden and Kitchen day programs.
