Kingdom Living Adult Day Health Care

Kingdom Living is an adult day health care center providing Community-Based Adult Services (CBAS) for adults 18 and older who have chronic medical conditions needing ongoing monitoring and who need help with everyday activities. Registered nurses monitor health, blood pressure and blood sugar and manage medications, in-house social workers provide case management, and the center offers occupational and physical therapy along with a dietitian. The center works with several managed care plans. Reviewers say it serves both seniors and younger adults with disabilities and that participants enjoy the company; one family reported problems with diabetic care and left the program. It is licensed by the California Department of Public Health as an Adult Day Health Care center.

Registered nurses monitor each participant's health during the day, check blood pressure and blood sugar per physician orders, administer prescribed medications and liaise with personal physicians. Social workers offer counseling, referrals and help with appointments, applications and bill payments, and physical and occupational therapists provide treatment and daily individual and group exercise. Three meals are served each day (breakfast, snack and lunch) with dietary counseling, and activities include arts and crafts, music therapy, games, healthy living classes and spiritual care. Transportation between home and the center is provided.

Kingdom Living is at 620 Bercut Dr, Sacramento, CA 95811. Program hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and the office is open 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Enrollees must be 18 or older with one or more chronic medical conditions, have limitations in daily activities, and have a health assessment completed by their primary care physician; the center partners with several managed care plans.
