UCP SAAGE (South Area Adult Growth Experience)

UCP SAAGE (South Area Adult Growth Experience) is an adult day program run by UCP of Sacramento and Northern California, which operates eight adult day program locations in the Sacramento region. The programs serve adults with significant cognitive disabilities due to conditions such as autism, epilepsy, intellectual disability, Down syndrome or cerebral palsy, including people who need support with physical challenges. Participants work on daily living skills, verbal and non-verbal communication and person-centered planning, with community outings supported by UCP's transportation program. It is licensed by the California Department of Social Services as an Adult Day Program for up to 59 participants.

UCP's adult day programs include basic instruction in computer skills, practical math and reading, functional living skills and self-advocacy. Participants also work on verbal and non-verbal communication and person-centered planning. Through UCP's transportation program, participants go on community outings to practice their skills in different settings.

UCP SAAGE is at 211 Lathrop Way A, Sacramento, CA 95815, and is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. To qualify, a person needs a doctor's diagnosis of a developmental disability and a referral from Alta California Regional Center, which pays for adults 18 and older.
